France is the European country with the most species that can be hunted. Among these, many species are already in danger of extinction.
Out of the 64 bird species that can be hunted in France, 20 are classified “in danger of extinction” by the European Union and are on the IUCN Red List.
Each year, hunters kill around 40 million animals and wound 5 million.
